Salary: $100,000 to $125,000 commensurate with experience
Reports to: Executive Director
Job Summary: The Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC) is seeking a full-time Director of Fund Development to lead and execute fundraising and development for one of the oldest and largest multi-ethnic, multilingual and multi-generational Muslim communities in Orange County and the Greater Los Angeles area.
Reporting to ISOC’s Executive Director, the Director of Fund Development will have operational and strategic responsibility to develop a systematic process for funding ISOC’s Annual Fund (funding ISOC operations) and ISOC’s Capital Campaign (funding construction and expansion). In partnership with the Executive Director and Religious Director, the Director of Fund Development will create a dynamic and sustainable model to secure financial stability for ISOC to carry out its mission to serve the Muslim community both now and in the future.

Job Duties:
Campaign Development and Execution
- Develop and organize dynamic fundraising campaigns, ensuring each campaign has a clear work plan,
themes, and sustainable framework. - Identify and cultivate target audiences, and gain donor buy-in through engagement and communication.
- Use various mediums such as social media, phone banking, telethons, and meetings (private/public) to
propagate the campaign message and assess effectiveness. - Set measurable metrics, forecast models, and track campaign progress against targets.
- Create a workforce/volunteer group to support and promote campaigns.
- Manage and oversee several key fundraising campaigns, including:
- Annual Fund
- Capital Campaign for the new master site plan
- Ramadan and other special event campaigns
- Planned Giving Program
Donor Stewardship:
- Mine existing donor rolls and engage in proactive outreach to identify potential donor opportunities.
- Cultivate relationships with prospective donors through ongoing communication and personalized engagement strategies.
- Ensure a positive donor experience that encourages repeat giving, retention, and larger donations.
- Ensure donor appreciation by sharing the impact of their contributions, ensuring they feel valued and connected.
- Implement and maintain the organization’s non-profit Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track donor interactions, preferences, and giving history.
- Develop and execute strategies to market and enhance the ISOC brand, ensuring consistent messaging across various platforms.
- Articulate what sets ISOC apart from other Islamic organizations in Southern California to bolster donor confidence.
Grant Management:
- Oversee grant-seeking activities, including identifying grant opportunities, writing proposals, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
Accountability and Reporting:
- Report fundraising results with validated data to the Executive Director and senior leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Implement and maintain an auditable process to trace the source of funds and their allocation.
- Regularly review and adjust fundraising strategies to ensure effectiveness and sustainability.
Perform additional related duties as requested.
External Collaboration:
- Develop and foster program partnerships and strategic alliances that advance ISOC’s mission and increase avenues of financial support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years of fundraising and development experience; at least 2 years at a Director level or greater.
- Experience with fundraising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising and campaigns.
- Experience with nonprofit CRM software for donor management, campaign tracking, and reporting.
- Comfortable with public speaking and representing the organization on camera.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create persuasive content tailored to different audiences, including donors, board members, and community partners.
- Skilled in navigating difficult conversations, problem-solving, and achieving collaborative team outcomes.
- Strong organizational ability to manage multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Solid grounding in the fundamentals of Islam, and an understanding of the American Muslim community’s
unique cultural and social dynamics.

Director of Montessori

Position Overview:
The Montessori Preschool Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, curriculum development, and staff management of the preschool and Kindergarten program. This role includes hiring and training staff, managing enrollment, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, and maintaining a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment. The Director collaborates with the school principal on budgeting and long-term planning while ensuring a smooth transition for students into elementary school.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership & Curriculum Development
- Develops, evaluates, and implements a Montessori-blended curriculum.
- Reviews and approves lesson plans, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
Monitors student progress through assessments and works with teachers to support student learning. - Organizes field trips and experiential learning opportunities.
Staff & Program Management
- Supervises and mentors Montessori staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Conducts staff evaluations, offers professional development, and ensures high teaching standards.
- Oversees scheduling, discipline procedures, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintains compliance with state licensing requirements, including Title 22 regulations.
Parent & Community Engagement
- Serves as the primary point of contact for parent concerns and communication.
- Organizes orientations, parent meetings, and workshops.
- Provides regular updates through newsletters and bulletins.
- Encourages family involvement in school activities.
Student Support & Development
- Provides a nurturing and joyful environment for all students.
- Monitors student achievement and provides interventions or referrals as needed.
- Addresses student behavior issues and communicates necessary actions to parents.
Administrative & Operational Duties
- Manages enrollment, student records, and facility upkeep.
- Ensures safety procedures are followed and emergency plans are in place.
- Assists with school events, extracurricular activities, and teacher support as needed.
- Represents the preschool in school-wide leadership meetings and board discussions.
- Serves as a substitute when needed.
Supervises:
All preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten staff and students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or the equivalent
- Master’s degree in Education Administration preferred
- Montessori certification
- Minimum 3+ years teaching experience in preschool/pre-k.
- A thorough understanding of and be fully familiar with all state and local licensing requirements, including Title 22 regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills
- CPR and First-Aid certification
Salary and Benefits:

Position Overview: Barakah Cafe, located within the Islamic Society of Orange County
(ISOC), is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Cafe Manager to oversee the daily operations of the cafe. As the Cafe Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and vibrant environment that serves the community with delicious food and drinks, while maintaining a commitment to high standards of service, quality, and hospitality. This position requires a proactive leader with a passion for customer service, team development, and Islamic values.
Key Responsibilities:
Cafe Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of Barakah Cafe, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Ensure a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and safety at all times.
- Maintain inventory of food and beverage items, ensuring quality and stock levels are adequate.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of products, managing purchase orders and controlling food costs.
- Ensure all food preparation, handling, and storage comply with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor cafe operations to ensure it aligns with ISOC’s values and mission.
Team Leadership & Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and mentor cafe staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Develop staff schedules to ensure sufficient coverage during peak hours.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and ensure proper professional development for all team members.
- Lead by example with exceptional customer service and work ethic.
Customer Service & Community Engagement:
- Create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons, offering excellent customer service.

- Act as a liaison between the cafe and the community, ensuring Barakah Cafe meets the needs and expectations of ISOC members and guests.
- Organize and support events, workshops, and other community activities at the cafe.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Track daily sales, manage cash flow, and ensure proper accounting procedures are followed.
- Prepare monthly reports on sales, expenses, and inventory, reporting to the ISOC Operations Director / Executive Director.
- Implement strategies to increase sales, reduce waste, and improve profit margins.
- Monitor and control cafe expenses to stay within budget.
Marketing & Promotion:
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the cafe within the ISOC community and the broader public.
- Utilize social media and other platforms to promote menu items, special offers, and events.
- Create a positive reputation for Barakah Cafe as a destination for both food and community engagement.
Alignment with ISOC Values:
- Ensure the cafe’s operations reflect Islamic principles, including providing halal food and respecting Islamic customs and ethics.
- Promote a family-friendly, inclusive, and respectful environment for all customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 2 of experience in food service management, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, customer service, and staff management.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
- Proven ability to manage inventory, ordering, and budgeting.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards in the food service industry.
Education:
